Copom reduz taxa Selic para 14,75% ao ano, primeira diminuição desde maio de 2024
O Comitê de Política Monetária (Copom) do Banco Central (BC) reduziu, nesta quarta-feira (18), reduziu a taxa básica de juros da economia, a Selic, para 14,75%. Essa é a primeira vez que a taxa, que estava em 15%, é diminuída desde maio de 2024.

A redução atende a expectativa de parte do mercado financeiro, que já projetava uma redução de 0,25 ponto percentual. A queda acontece após as incertezas com a guerra no Oriente Médio, que vem pressionando o preço do petróleo, que impulsiona o preço dos combustíveis no Brasil.
A reunião do Copom aconteceu nesta quarta-feira com dois votos a menos, com a saída do diretor de Organização do Sistema Financeiro, Renato Gomes, e do diretor de Política Econômica, Diogo Guillen.
