Curi chegou ao local acompanhado do senador Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). Vale lembrar que o delegado já foi cotado pela direita para representar o partido de Flávio nas eleições para governador do Rio. No entanto, foi o secretário estadual de Cidades, Douglas Ruas, que assumiu a pré-candidatura.
Durante a palestra, Curi disse que sua experiência com segurança pública, à frente da Polícia Civil desde 2024, o ajudou a perceber que o combate à criminalidade exige mudanças na legislação federal. A exoneração do delegado deve ocorrer nesta sexta-feira, 20.
Antes do evento, o secretário negou acusações de que a Polícia Civil estaria sendo usada como instrumento político para a prisão do vereador Salvino Oliveira (PSD), que foi detido durante a Operação Red Legacy, na semana passada. "A Polícia Civil não escolhe alvo por posição política, por grupo ou por conveniência", escreveu Curi na legenda de um vídeo postado em suas redes sociais.
