Em declaração difundida nesta quarta-feira (18/03), o secretário de Comunicação da Argentina, Javier Lanari, afirmou que o governo do país sul-americano está disposto a apoiar o esforço de guerra feito por Israel e Estados Unidos contra o Irã.
O secretário afirmou que "se os Estados Unidos solicitassem, nós enviaremos sim (ajuda militar)", mas assegurou que tal pedido ainda não foi realizado.
"Qualquer ajuda que eles considerem necessária será fornecida", acrescentou Lanari. As declarações foram feitas durante entrevista ao jornal espanhol El Mundo.
A posição expressada pelo secretário foi confirmada pelo chanceler argentino, Pablo Quirno. "Na medida em que eles precisarem do nosso apoio, está claro qual será a nossa posição", frisou o ministro de Relações Exteriores.
Apesar de o governo dos Estados Unidos não ter se pronunciado oficialmente, o advogado Marc Zell, ligado ao Partido Republicano e a entidades sionistas norte-americanas, disse em suas redes sociais que "a Argentina está enviando unidades navais para ajudar a proteger o tráfego marítimo internacional no Estreito de Ormuz".
A mensagem de Zell não está sintonizada com as declarações das autoridades argentinas, que confirmaram a disposição em ajudar Estados Unidos e Israel na guerra, mas sem detalhar de que forma seria essa colaboração.
