Na Celac, Lula e Petro voltam a defender fortalecimento do multilateralismo regional
Durante reunião bilateral, presidente colombiano confirmou presença no evento 'Democracia contra o Extremismo', previsto para 18 de abril na Espanha
O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva participou de encontros bilaterais com os presidentes da Colômbia, Gustavo Petro; e do Burundi, Évariste Ndayishimiye. As duas reuniões ocorreram no sábado (21/03) durante a 10ª Cúpula de Chefes de Estado e de Governo da Comunidade de Estados Latino-Americanos e Caribenhos (Celac) e do I Fórum Celac-África, em Bogotá.
No encontro com Petro, os dois líderes conversaram sobre a presidência da Colômbia à frente da CELAC, e apresentaram suas expectativas com relação à presidência do Uruguai, que se inicia.
De acordo com o Planalto, Lula e Petro reiteraram a importância de fortalecer as instâncias multilaterais regionais. O presidente colombiano confirmou que participará da reunião Democracia contra o Extremismo. A reunião está prevista para ser realizada em Barcelona no dia 18 de abril.
Burundi
Na reunião com o presidente do Burundi, Évariste Ndayishimiye, Lula o parabenizou por ter sido eleito presidente da União Africana e, na sequência, o agradeceu pela adesão de seu país à Aliança Global contra a Fome e a Pobreza.
O presidente brasileiro destacou a importância da instalação de escritório da Embrapa em Adis Abeba, capital da Etiópia, o que, na avaliação de Lula, resultará em oportunidades de cooperação para o desenvolvimento do setor agropecuário no continente africano.
Lula defendeu a candidatura da ex-presidenta chilena Michelle Bachelet à Secretaria-Geral da ONU. Já Ndayishimiye disse que apoiará a candidatura do ex-presidente do Senegal Macky Sall.
Em suas argumentações, Lula reiterou que chegou a hora de a ONU ser presidida, pela primeira vez em 80 anos, por uma mulher da América Latina e Caribe.
