Dois bispos do ES debatem filme sobre a Teologia da Libertação
A iniciativa é da Escola de Fé e Política da Arquidiocese de Vitória em parceria com a Ufes. A data do evento recorda o martírio de Santo Óscar Romero, assassinado em 24 de março de 1980 durante uma missa que celebrava em San Salvador, capital de El Salvador.
Considerado mártir pela Igreja Católica, o arcebispo da capital salvadorenha foi canonizado pelo papa Francisco em 14 de outubro de 2018.
"Romero representa uma fé que não separa espiritualidade e justiça. Celebrar sua memória nesse dia é lembrar que o Evangelho continua sendo um chamado à solidariedade e à coragem", afirma Abdalla.
O filme percorre a história da Teologia da Libertação e sua influência na organização de pastorais, comunidades e movimentos populares em diversos países da América Latina.
Para Abdalla, o documentário recupera uma memória necessária para o presente. "A Teologia da Libertação ajudou a revelar que o Evangelho também é uma força histórica de transformação. O filme mostra como comunidades cristãs se organizaram para enfrentar desigualdades e defender a vida dos mais pobres."
