A coletiva de imprensa foi organizada pela Sesp, por meio da Gerência de Proteção à Mulher (GPM) e do Departamento Especializado de Homicídios e Proteção à Pessoa (DHPP) da Polícia Civil do Espírito Santo.
As autoridades responsáveis pelo caso, entre elas a delegada Michele Meira, falaram sobre a investigação do feminicídio.
"Acho que essa entrevista é a mais difícil que eu já fiz em toda a minha carreira. Um dia triste para nós aqui no estado", disse a delegada, com a voz embargada.
E prosseguiu: "A gente recebe essa notícia com muita indignação e tristeza. E a gente manifesta os nossos sentimentos aos familiares, aos amigos, aos colegas de trabalho. Eu tive a oportunidade de conviver um pouco com a comandante. Participamos de algumas ações juntas de enfrentamento à violência contra a mulher", lembrou.
Para a delegada, o caso revela a importância das autoridades olharem também para as mulheres que trabalham na segurança pública e que podem estar sofrendo violência doméstica caladas.
"Por muitas vezes essas mulheres se sentem envergonhadas, com medo da repercussão nas suas carreiras, e acabam não buscando ajuda", alertou.
Segundo a Polícia Civil, depois do crime, familiares e testemunhas relataram que Dayse havia terminado recentemente o relacionamento com o policial, que era ciumento e possessivo.
Além disso, a família disse que havia histórico de perseguição e ameaças. No entanto, não havia nenhum registro dessas ocorrências, segundo os policiais.
