O ministro André Mendonça, do Supremo Tribunal Federal, determinou que o Congresso Nacional leia, em até 48 horas, o requerimento que pede a extensão dos trabalhos da CPMI do INSS. O presidente do Senado, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), espera pela notificação oficial da Corte.
Segundo O Globo, Alcolumbre disse a aliados que quer examinar o teor do despacho e suas implicações regimentais antes de tomar qualquer providência.
A ação no STF foi movida pelo presidente da CPI, senador Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), pelo relator, deputado Alfredo Gaspar (União-AL), e pelo deputado Marcel Van Hattem (Novo-RS). Os três pediam a prorrogação por 120 dias diante da inércia da presidência da Casa.

Ele impõe, por decorrência lógica, a aceitação da conclusão de que a mesma minoria também possui o direito de decidir se haverá ou não prorrogação do funcionamento da citada comissão".
