Pelo terceiro ano consecutivo, o Ceará atingiu a meta de alfabetização dos alunos do 2º ano do ensino fundamental. No Estado, 84% das crianças que estavam nesta série em 2025, geralmente com 7 anos de idade, sabiam ler e escrever. Com isso, o Ceará segue com o maior índice de alfabetização do Brasil e já atingiu o objetivo previsto para 2030.
Os dados divulgados pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC), nesta segunda-feira (23), são do Índice Criança Alfabetizada (ICA), criado em 2023 pelo governo Lula para que o Brasil tenha um parâmetro nacional de alfabetização.
Dezenove estados e o Distrito Federal alcançaram a meta estabelecida para o ano passado. Goiás (80%), Paraná (80%), Espírito Santo (77%) e Piauí (77%) são, na sequência após o Ceará, os estados com os maiores percentuais de alunos alfabetizados, conforme o índice do MEC. Os menores percentuais são de Roraima (57%), Bahia (55%), Rio Grande do Sul (52%), Sergipe (50%) e Rio Grande do Norte (48%).
Os resultados publicados pelo MEC e pelo Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep), e celebrados em cerimônia oficial pelo presidente Lula e pelo ministro Camilo Santana (PT) apontam que no Brasil, 66% das crianças da rede pública brasileira foram alfabetizadas na idade adequada em 2025, superando a meta nacional, que era de 64%.
Os dados são obtidos nas avaliações externas realizadas nas escolas públicas em cada estado, no caso do Ceará o Sistema Permanente de Avaliação da Educação Básica do Ceará (Spaece), e nelas são aplicadas perguntas específicas padronizadas para o Brasil. Assim, é possível alinhar e comparar os resultados de todas as redes.
