O ex-ministro dos Direitos Humanos do governo Lula, Silvio Almeida, afirmou na terça-feira, 31, ser "um homem inocente", na primeira declaração pública desde que foi denunciado pela Procuradoria-Geral da República (PGR) por importunação sexual contra a ministra da Igualdade Racial, Anielle Franco, no mês passado.
Em vídeo publicado no Instagram, Almeida se defendeu da acusação. "Eu sou um homem inocente", disse Silvio logo no início. "Eu fique em silêncio até aqui por responsabilidade, por respeito à dor da minha família, por respeito à lei, uma vez que a investigação corre em sigilo e eu respeito isso."
O ex-ministro afirmou que dirá o que tem a dizer sobre o caso na Justiça, onde poderá se defender "de verdade". "Durante o inquérito, na prática, eu não pude me defender", disse.
"Há quem não tenha nenhuma realização para mostrar, nenhuma proposta para oferecer, e que, por isso, chega ao ponto de incriminar uma pessoa inocente apenas para eliminar aquele que considera um adversário ou para erguer, sobre uma mentira, uma bandeira eleitoral", acrescentou.
Silvio afirmou que foi retirado da vida pública de forma "violenta e injusta" e que foi demitido "em 24 horas e sem direito à defesa", "antes de qualquer investigação formal, com base em uma nota sem nenhum critério jornalístico e totalmente irresponsável".
"Eu passei a ser tratado como um assediador apenas depois que as acusações foram lançadas ao público de forma completamente irresponsável", disse. "Eu sou inocente e não vou me curvar a nenhum tipo de injustiça", concluiu.
Em novembro passado, Silvio Almeida foi indiciado pela Polícia Federal (PF) com base na suspeita de importunação sexual contra Anielle e a professora Isabel Rodrigues.
Anielle afirmou que houve "atitudes inconvenientes" por parte de Almeida, como toques inapropriados e convites impertinentes, mas que não reportou os episódios por "medo do descrédito e dos julgamentos". O processo está sob sigilo no Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) e tem como relator o ministro André Mendonça.
Ele foi demitido da pasta em setembro de 2024, após denúncias de assédio sexual levadas à organização Me Too. No início de 2025, durante as investigações, Almeida chegou a depor por mais de duas horas à PF.
No comunicado oficial da demissão, o governo federal informou que o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva considerava "insustentável" a manutenção do ministro no cargo diante da natureza das acusações. O caso também é apurado pela Comissão de Ética Pública da Presidência, sob sigilo, na esfera administrativa por envolver agente público.
