O Irã rejeitou as recentes ameaças de Donald Trump, que prometeu destruir a infraestrutura vital do país, caso o Estreito de Ormuz não seja reaberto em 48 horas. A resposta foi divulgada neste sábado (4/4) pelo general Ali Abdullahí, chefe do Quartel-General Central de Khatam al-Anbiya.
Em um comunicado, o militar das Forças Armadas da República Islâmica do Irã disse que o presidente dos Estados Unidos age de forma "desesperada, nervosa, desequilibrada e tola" após "derrotas consecutivas" dos norte-americanos no conflito.
Ali Abdullahí acrescentou que, caso as ameaças se concretizem, as forças iranianas estão prontas para responder.
"Em caso de agressão do inimigo americano sionista, todas as infraestruturas usadas pelo exército terrorista dos EUA, bem como as infraestruturas do regime sionista, serão alvo de ataques destrutivos e contínuos sem restrições", disse o general iraniano.
"Desde o início da guerra importa, tudo o que dissemos, dizemos, e o significado simples desta mensagem é que as portas do inferno se abrirão para vocês [norte-americanos]".
Mais cedo, Trump voltou a ameaçar a infraestrutura energética do Irã em retaliação ao bloqueio em Ormuz., onde cerca de 20% do petróleo mundial é escoado. O estreito sofre com restrições de navegação, impostas pelos iranianos, desde o início da guerra no Oriente Médio.
