O cão Orelha virou nome de um parque voltado para pets em Itu, no interior de São Paulo, reinaugurado pela prefeitura do município. A homenagem foi feita ao cachorro comunitário que se tornou um símbolo da luta contra maus-tratos a animais após a morte ganhar repercussão nacional.
O caso ocorreu no bairro Praia Brava, em Florianópolis (SC), em janeiro deste ano. O bicho foi encontrado por moradores da região em uma área de mata e levado ao veterinário, mas, por causa da gravidade dos ferimentos, ele precisou ser submetido à eutanásia.
O Espaço Cão Orelha foi inaugurado nesta semana, no Centro de Educação Ambiental Miguel Lorente Villa (CEA Villa). Ficará aberto todos os dias, das 8h às 17h.
A área foi projetada para ser uma área em que os animais de estimação tenham momentos de diversão, atividades para gastar energia e para a promoção da saúde física e mental.
A reforma incluiu a instalação de bebedouro e banheiro para os animais, troca de equipamentos, pintura, colocação de banco e grama, revitalização do portão e cuidado com a vegetação para garantir a segurança dos animais e tutores.
O CEA Villa está localizado na esquina das ruas Amabili Trettel Salvador e Anthígio Cavechini, no bairro Presidente Médici, em Itu.

Na madrugada entre 3 e 4 de janeiro, o cão Orelha foi vítima de maus-tratos no bairro Praia Brava, em Florianópolis (SC).
Muito ferido, o cachorro comunitário foi encontrado por moradores da região em uma área de mata e levado ao veterinário. Por causa da gravidade dos ferimentos, ele precisou ser submetido à eutanásia.
