Em apoio à reeleição Lula, pecuarista e ex-ministra Katia Abreu anuncia filiação ao PT
Política iniciou carreira no antigo PFL e já passou pelo PSD, MDB e PDT; relação dela com petistas nem sempre foi de concordância
A pecuarista Katia Abreu anunciou neste sábado, 4, sua filiação ao Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT). A mudança partidária da política do agronegócio ocorre dentro do período máximo para ela poder concorrer nas eleições de outubro pela legenda de esquerda, no entanto, ela não anunciou por qual cargo deve concorrer, se tentará voltar à Câmara ou ao Senado.
Em seu discurso de filiação, publicado nas redes sociais (veja o vídeo abaixo), Katia citou a defesa da livre iniciativa privada, uma de suas bandeiras políticas — visto que transita entre a esquerda, o centro e a direita. "Estaremos na luta pela democracia, pela reeleição do presidente Lula (…) Vamos continuar lutando por dias melhores, pela igualdade das pessoas, por mais justiça social. Este [Tocantins] é o estado da livre iniciativa [privada], do trabalho e da justiça social acima de tudo", disse.
Já o presidente do diretório estadual do PT, Nile William, aproveitou o momento para relembrar que Katia Abreu articulou contra o impeachment de Dilma Rousseff e ficou ao lado da petista até o final, se indispondo, inclusive, com o seu partido à época, o MDB (que colocava Michel Temer no lugar da presidente). "Vamos falar a verdade, ela é uma companheira que comeu um prato de sal com a gente em defesa da presidenta Dilma em um dos piores momentos da história da nossa República", disse William.
