A construção da Transnordestina completa oficialmente 20 anos em junho de 2026, entre rescisões de contrato e paralisações. Com novo prazo de entrega para 2027, as obras da ferrovia tem tomado ritmo acelerado nos últimos meses.
A ferrovia de 1,2 mil quilômetros irá ligar Eliseu Martins, no Piauí, ao Complexo do Pecém, no Ceará. Já foram concluídos 727 quilômetros e há outros 326 km em obras, segundo a Transnordestina Logística S.A. (TLSA), empresa responsável pela obra.
"A fase 1 compreende o trecho de Paes Landim (PI) até o Porto do Pecém (CE), e estará concluída em 2027, dentro do cronograma", afirma a companhia. A conclusão física dessa fase está em 81%.
Já a fase 2, de Paes Landim a Eliseu Martins (ambas cidades do Piauí), está em fase inicial das obras de infraestrutura.
Em fevereiro deste ano, chegou da China o último lote de trilhos necessário para concluir a montagem completa da linha férrea.
