Fiéis celebram Vigília Pascal na Igreja da Sé, em Belém
A cerimônia é presidida pelo arcebispo metropolitano, Dom Julio Endi Akamine.
Dezenas de fiéis participam, na noite deste sábado (4), da Vigília Pascal na Catedral Metropolitana de Belém, a Igreja da Sé, no bairro da Cidade Velha. A celebração, considerada a mais importante e solene do calendário da Igreja Católica, começou às 20h e é presidida pelo arcebispo metropolitano, Dom Julio Endi Akamine.
Realizada no Sábado Santo, também conhecido como Sábado de Aleluia, a Vigília Pascal marca a passagem da morte para a vida e celebra a ressurreição de Jesus Cristo. A cerimônia é tradicionalmente reconhecida como o momento central da fé católica, sendo chamada por Santo Agostinho de "mãe de todas as santas vigílias".
A celebração é composta por diferentes etapas litúrgicas, iniciando em ambiente externo e no escuro, com a Celebração da Luz, quando é aceso o Círio Pascal, simbolizando Cristo como a luz do mundo. Em seguida, os fiéis acompanham a Liturgia da Palavra, a Liturgia Batismal e a Liturgia Eucarística, que relembram a história da salvação e renovam a fé dos participantes.
Após a missa, os fiéis devem seguir em procissão com o Cristo Ressuscitado no entorno da Praça Frei Caetano Brandão, inicialmente conhecida como Largo da Sé, localizada na Rua Doutor Assis, também na Cidade Velha. A caminhada simboliza a alegria pela ressurreição e encerra a programação da noite.
