México: Senado aprova reforma que reduz jornada de trabalho

Segundo o jornal argentino Página12, a reforma foi aprovada no Senado com 121 votos favoráveis e nenhum contrário, tanto no mérito quanto nos artigos não reservados do texto. A medida beneficiará cerca de 13,5 milhões de trabalhadores mexicanos.
A aprovação em caráter geral significa que o Senado avalizou a totalidade da reforma constitucional. Já os artigos não reservados são aqueles que não geraram divergências entre os parlamentares e foram aceitos sem necessidade de modificações ou debates adicionais.
A proposta altera artigo da Constituição do México e foi apresentada por Sheinbaum em dezembro. O texto estabelece que a jornada de 40 horas será incorporada tanto à Constituição quanto à Lei Federal do Trabalho, sem redução de salários, vencimentos ou benefícios. A iniciativa também proíbe que menores de idade realizem horas extras.
A implementação ocorrerá de forma gradual: a partir de 2027, haverá redução de duas horas por ano até que a jornada de 40 horas seja plenamente alcançada em janeiro de 2030. O ano de 2026 funcionará como período de adaptação para empresas e trabalhadores.
Com a aprovação no Senado, o projeto segue agora para a Câmara de Deputados, última etapa do trâmite legislativo antes de sua promulgação.
