O gabinete de imprensa da Presidência da República do Líbano comunicou nesta sexta-feira (10) que iniciará negociações formais de paz com Israel na terça-feira (14). Com mediação dos Estados Unidos, o encontro de ambas as diplomacias será na capital norte-americana, Washington.

Segundo noticiou a Reuters, Tel-Aviv, no entanto, negou discutir cessar-fogo com o Hezbollah. A movimentação para encerrar as hostilidades se dá em meio a ofensivas israelenses contra o grupo islâmico xiita.

O Ministério da Saúde do Líbano informou que o ataque aéreo de Tel-Aviv, na quarta-feira (8), resultou na morte de 357 pessoas e em 1.223 feridos. Segundo informou a pasta, o número de vítimas ainda pode subir, porque ainda está sendo feita a retirada de corpos dos escombros.

Por outro lado, autoridades de Israel comunicaram que a ofensiva contra o território libanês matou "pelo menos 180" integrantes do Hezbollah.
