O anúncio foi feito em cerimônia com a presença do presidente uruguaio, Yamandú Orsi, ao lado de Marcos Molina, chairman da MBRF, Miguel Gularte, CEO da companhia, e Marcelo Secco, CEO da operação uruguaia.

Movimento internacional

A MBRF opera no Uruguai desde 2006, quando a então Marfrig iniciou ali a internacionalização de sua plataforma de bovinos na América do Sul.

A companhia responde hoje por cerca de 30% das exportações de carne bovina do país, com embarques para Estados Unidos, China, Japão, Coreia do Sul e União Europeia. A marca Sadia tem participação de aproximadamente 70% no mercado uruguaio de industrializados.

No Oriente Médio, a MBRF também acelerou movimentos nas últimas semanas.

Há duas semanas, a companhia fechou parceria de R$ 1,3 bilhão com a Halal Products Development Company, subsidiária do fundo soberano saudita PIF, para tirar do papel a Sadia Halal, joint venture avaliada em US$ 2,07 bilhões que agora mira um IPO. Dias depois, ampliou com a Salic, também do PIF, o fornecimento de frango e bovinos à Arábia Saudita.
