"É um absurdo, é uma distopia, uma decepção. Não tem como qualificar uma coisa dessa natureza. É uma aberração", afirmou ele. "Eu também sempre tive um apego muito grande a bichos, agora a Rita transcendia isso, ela ia além."
Orelha foi atacado na madrugada de 4 de janeiro, por volta das 5h30, na Praia Brava, no norte da ilha de Florianópolis. Laudos indicaram que o animal sofreu um golpe contundente na cabeça, possivelmente causado por chute ou por um objeto rígido, como madeira ou garrafa. Ele morreu no dia seguinte.
