Eleições 2026: Sanderson se reúne com Bolsonaro para discutir vaga ao Senado no RS
A conversa acontece em função dos arranjos políticos que têm sido desenhados. Isso porque na carta-convite enviada pelos liberais ao PP, a proposta de aliança prevê que o partido que ficar com a vaga de vice deverá indicar, também, um nome para o Senado.
O problema, contudo, é que a chapa do deputado federal Luciano Zucco (PL) ao Palácio Piratini já conta com dois nomes na disputa à Câmara Alta: os deputados federais Marcel van Hattem (Novo) e Sanderson. E, como a escolha de Sanderson partiu do próprio Bolsonaro, qualquer movimento contrário a isso deverá passar pelo seu aval.
Assim, caso consolide o cenário em que o PP fica na vice, o partido deverá reivindicar a vaga. Aliás, vale lembrar que uma das cadeiras em jogo é de um progressista: o senador Luis Carlos Heinze. Soma-se a isso, também, a possibilidade de que, com a volta de Sérgio Turra para o PP, o partido o indique para suplente de Van Hattem.

O presidente estadual do PL, Giovani Cherini, garante que isso será discutido mais adiante e nada será feito antes que Sanderson e Bolsonaro se reúnam. Mas relembra que o PP tem tarefas para cumprir dentro de casa, como o racha partidário instituído.
Apesar de o diretório nacional aprovar, em resolução, a aliança com o PL e o nome de Covatti Filho para liderar esse processo, uma ala do partido rejeita a decisão e foi até Brasília solicitar, por meio do presidente nacional, Ciro Nogueira, que seja feita uma pré-convenção em março.
O grupo é liderado pelo deputado estadual Ernani Polo, mas conta com o apoio de uma série de lideranças progressistas, como deputados federais e estaduais e o presidente de honra Celso Bernardi.
