Após semanas de negociação, o Parlamento da Venezuela aprovou nesta quinta-feira, 19, por unanimidade, uma lei de anistia geral que deve levar à libertação de centenas de presos políticos em 27 anos de chavismo. O texto foi sancionado em seguida pela presidente interina Delcy Rodríguez.
A anistia é um projeto impulsionado por Delcy, que assumiu o poder após a captura de Nicolás Maduro em uma operação militar dos Estados Unidos em 3 de janeiro.
Ela governa sob pressão de Washington e de Donald Trump, a quem cedeu parcialmente o controle do petróleo do país, e também anunciou um processo de soltura que deu liberdade condicional a 448 presos políticos. Mas, segundo a ONG Foro Penal, ainda restam 644 atrás das grades.
Especialistas independentes das Nações Unidas ressaltaram que a anistia "deve ser aplicada a todas as vítimas de processos ilegais e integrada em um processo abrangente de justiça de transição".
A oposição questionou o trecho final da redação que exige que a pessoa "esteja à disposição da Justiça ou se apresente à Justiça", ou seja, que compareça aos tribunais na Venezuela para determinar se a anistia se aplica.
Não está claro como essa exigência afeta opositores no exílio.
