Caso Banco Master: Fachin arquiva ação contra Toffoli no STF
Apesar de relação com Vorcaro, Corte entende que ministro não é suspeito
O presidente do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), ministro Edson Fachin, arquivou no sábado, 21, a arguição de suspeição que questionava a atuação do ministro Dias Toffoli como relator do inquérito que investiga as supostas fraudes do Banco Master.
A arguição havia sido aberta pelo próprio Fachin após o STF receber, no último dia 9, um relatório enviado pelo diretor-geral da Polícia Federal (PF), Andrei Rodrigues.
O documento citava mensagens encontradas no celular do dono do Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, nas quais ele e o cunhado, Fabiano Zettel, comentavam o pagamento de despesas do resort Tayayá, da família de Toffoli, no Paraná.

No dia 12 de fevereiro, os ministros do STF se reuniram para discutir o conteúdo do relatório da PF. Após o encontro, divulgaram nota afirmando não haver motivos para declarar Toffoli suspeito.
Informaram também que o próprio ministro decidiu deixar a relatoria do caso, em respeito aos "altos interesses institucionais" envolvidos.
Dessa forma, o arquivamento feito por Fachin apenas formaliza o que já havia sido decidido na reunião.
Novo relator
Após a saída de Toffoli da relatoria do caso, o ministro André Mendonça foi sorteado para dar seguimento ao caso no STF.
O novo relator marcou para segunda-feira, 23, uma nova reunião com a Polícia Federal. O objetivo é entender em que pé estão as investigações do caso.
