A Polícia Federal informou ao Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) que não conseguiu periciar os vídeos da Operação Contenção, enviados pela Polícia Civil do Rio de Janeiro. Foram disponibilizados 945 arquivos apenas em nuvem, inviabilizando as perícias, de acordo com ofício enviado à Corte.
Deflagrada em outubro de 2025, a Operação Contenção, contra a facção Comando Vermelho, deixou 122 mortos. Uma parte dos corpos foi abandonada em área de mata no Complexo da Penha, na zona norte da cidade, e enfileirados em uma das principais vias da Vila Cruzeiro após o resgate. No dia, as famílias e agentes comunitários denunciaram sinais de execução.
Os vídeos das câmeras corporais usados por agentes da Polícia Civil foram solicitados pelo gabinete do ministro Alexandre de Moraes, no contexto da Arguição de Descumprimento de Preceito Fundamental 635, chamada ADPF das Favelas.
O procedimento buscou impor limites à atuação policial em favelas, devido à alta letalidade nessas ocasiões. Entre as medidas determinadas pelos juízes, estava a obrigatoriedade de preservar cenas de crimes (mortes), além da instalação de câmeras nas viaturas. O uso do equipamento nas fardas já era obrigatório.
No entanto, apesar da determinação do STF, a Polícia Civil disponibilizou apenas o acesso à reprodução direta dos 945 vídeos.
"Como o download não se encontrava ativo, restou inviabilizada a extração dos arquivos para fins de preservação, análise de viabilidade técnica e eventual realização de perícia", alegou o diretor-geral substituto da PF, William Marcel Murad, em ofício ao STF. Ele solicitou o acesso ao material em mídia física.
