Cão Orelha: laudo após exumação não identifica causa da morte
Orelha, cão comunitário que vivia na Praia Brava, em Florianópolis (SC), morreu no início de janeiro.
O caso que apontou crime de maus-tratos ao animal teve grande repercussão nacional. Em um laudo inicial, baseado no atendimento veterinário que o animal recebeu, a Polícia Civil apontou que a morte de Orelha teria sido causada por um golpe na cabeça com objeto contundente e sem ponta.
Nesta quinta-feira (26), o laudo pericial, divulgado pela NSC TV, descartou qualquer fratura no esqueleto do animal, mas citou que a conclusão "não deve ser interpretada como ausência de trauma cranioencefálico ou mesmo em outras partes do corpo".
Ainda segundo o documento, a análise dos restos mortais não permitiu afirmar qual foi a causa da morte. O laudo destaca que a maioria dos traumas cranianos não apresenta fraturas, porém, ainda são capazes de levar os animais à morte.
Também não foi constatado qualquer vestígio que sustente a hipótese de que um prego teria sido cravado na cabeça do animal, como chegou a ser veiculado nas redes sociais.
Na coluna vertebral, foi observada presença abundante de osteófitos (resposta do corpo ao processo de sobrecarga e desgaste), compatíveis com espondilose deformante — uma doença degenerativa crônica comum em animais idosos, sem relação com o possível trauma recente.
No texto, os peritos destacaram limitações importantes para a realização do trabalho. O animal, por exemplo, já estava em fase de esqueletização, comprometendo a análise de tecidos moles.
"Assim, o exame se limitou à minuciosa avaliação óssea dos remanescentes mortais", diz o documento.
O laudo ainda afirma que "todos os ossos do animal foram minuciosamente examinados visualmente, não tendo sido constatada qualquer fratura ou lesão que pudesse ter sido causada por ação humana, nem mesmo em crânio, em região esquerda, na qual já foi discutido no laudo anteriormente apresentado".
A exumação foi realizada em 11 de fevereiro.
Solicitação do MPSC
A exumação do corpo do cão Orelha atendeu solicitação do Ministério Público de Santa Catarina, que recebeu a conclusão das investigações e solicitou informações complementares à Polícia Civil.
Na opinião do MP, o material reunido apresentava lacunas que impediam a formação de uma opinião sobre o caso.
Foram 35 novas ações solicitadas pelo MP, além de outros 26 atos de investigação e mais 61 diligências extras. Entre os pedidos, estava a exumação do corpo do animal.
O iG tentou contato com o MPSC e solicitou um posicionamento sobre o laudo, mas, até o momento, não obteve retorno. O espaço segue aberto.
É o órgão que decidirá se acolhe o pedido de internação do adolescente apontado como autor da morte de Orelha, se pede mais investigações ou se arquiva o caso.
A investigação está em segredo de Justiça por envolver adolescentes, conforme prevê o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA).
