Em vídeo divulgado nas redes sociais, gravado em frente a um posto de combustíveis, o parlamentar declarou que não houve anúncio de reajuste por parte da Petrobras e acusou distribuidoras e revendedores de aumentarem os preços sem justificativa.
"Sou oposição ao Lula, mas não ao Brasil. Quero ser justo aqui. A Petrobras não anunciou aumento da gasolina", afirmou o senador.
Segundo Cleitinho, alguns postos estariam utilizando a guerra no Oriente Médio como justificativa para elevar os valores, mesmo sem impacto imediato sobre o preço dos combustíveis no Brasil.
Ele afirmou que, em determinados locais, a gasolina já ultrapassa R$ 7, enquanto o diesel chega a mais de R$ 8.
Pedido de investigação e cobrança aos governadores
Além das críticas aos revendedores, Cleitinho defendeu que governos estaduais também adotem medidas para reduzir os preços.
O senador lembrou que o governo federal zerou impostos sobre o diesel, como PIS e Cofins, e desafiou governadores a adotarem medida semelhante em relação ao ICMS.
"Agora faço um desafio aos governadores: reduzam o ICMS também", disse.
Cleitinho afirmou ainda que encaminhou representação ao Ministério Público Federal pedindo a notificação de distribuidoras e postos para investigar possíveis aumentos abusivos.
Para o senador, a situação representa uma "covardia" contra o consumidor. "Se tem jeito de aumentar, tem jeito de reduzir também", afirmou.
