O presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, e o primeiro-ministro do Reino Unido, Keir Starmer, conversaram por telefone neste domingo, 15, segundo comunicado do governo britânico. Os líderes discutiram a atual situação no Oriente Médio e a importância de se reabrir o Estreito de Ormuz para pôr fim à interrupção do transporte marítimo global, que tem elevado custos em todo o mundo.
"O primeiro-ministro também expressou suas condolências aos militares americanos que perderam a vida durante o conflito. Eles concordaram em manter contato", complementa o comunicado.
O ministro das Relações Exteriores do Irã, Abbas Araghchi, disse neste domingo que o país do Oriente Médio está aberto a conversar com países que desejam acessar o Estreito de Ormuz com segurança e que o governo iraniano já foi procurado por vários deles.
As declarações foram feitas em entrevista à CBS News. Ao ser questionado se o Irã está aberto à retomada da circulação de navios de petróleo e gás pelo Estreito, pontuou: "Bem, estamos abertos a países que queiram conversar conosco sobre a passagem segura de seus navios".
Na sequência, questionado se estão negociando com a França e a Itália, respondeu: "Não posso mencionar nenhum país em particular, mas fomos procurados por diversos países que desejam uma passagem segura para seus navios. E essa decisão cabe às nossas Forças Armadas, que já decidiram permitir a passagem segura de um grupo de navios de diferentes países. Portanto, oferecemos segurança para a passagem deles, pois não fechamos este estreito. Eles não vêm por conta própria devido à insegurança existente, causada pela agressão dos EUA".
O Estreito de Ormuz está localizado entre o Irã e Omã. No sábado, 14, o presidente dos Estados Unidos disse que o país norte-americano ajudará "muito" a cuidar da região.
"Os EUA derrotaram e dizimaram completamente o Irã, militar, econômica e em todos os outros aspectos, mas os países do mundo que recebem petróleo pelo Estreito de Ormuz precisam cuidar dessa passagem, e nós ajudaremos — e muito! Os EUA também coordenarão com esses países para que tudo ocorra de forma rápida, tranquila e eficiente. Isso sempre deveria ter sido um esforço conjunto, e agora será – unirá o mundo em prol da harmonia, segurança e paz eterna!", escreveu o presidente americano na Truth Social.
