Por Andre Richter - O ministro André Mendonça, do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), prorrogou nesta quarta-feira (18) o inquérito que investiga as fraudes no Banco Master.
Com a decisão, a Polícia Federal (PF) terá prazo de 60 dias para concluir as investigações.
As fraudes são apuradas pela Operação Compliance Zero, deflagrada para investigar a concessão de créditos falsos pelo Banco Master, incluindo a tentativa de compra da instituição financeira pelo Banco Regional de Brasília (BRB), banco público ligado ao governo do Distrito Federal.
De acordo com as investigações preliminares, as fraudes podem chegar a R$ 17 bilhões.
A operação está na terceira fase e já permitiu a prisão do banqueiro Daniel Vorcaro, que está custodiado na Penitenciária Federal em Brasília.
O ministro atendeu ao pedido de prorrogação feito pela Polícia Federal.
