A informação referente às mais de 50 multas contra distribuidoras de combustíveis partiu do ministro de Minas e Energia, Alexandre Silveira. Ele falou sobre esse tipo de medida ao participar de evento ao lado do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva em Minas Gerais, Estado que é o seu reduto eleitoral.

"Não daremos trégua um minuto sequer", afirmou Silveira, segundo o site da CNN Brasil. "Combatendo cartel através dos inquéritos que já foram instaurados pela Polícia Federal (PF)".

A ação contra o que o governo chama de "preços abusivos" de combustíveis ocorre a partir parceria firmada pela pasta de Minas e Energia com quatro órgãos: PF, Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis, Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica e Ministério da Justiça. Conforme o Executivo federal, Procons municipais e estaduais também participam do trabalho.

Cerca de 1,2 mil postos espalhados pelo país foram fiscalizados.

Ação contra distribuidoras versus aumento dos preços de combustíveis

Apesar da medida encabeçada pelo Ministério de Minas e Energia, o Brasil lida com aumento dos preços dos combustíveis, com direito à movimentação feita pela Petrobras. Nesta semana, a estatal anunciou o aumento de R$ 0,38 no preço do litro do diesel tipo A vendido às distribuidoras.

A elevação do valor do combustível se dá em meio à escalada do conflito entre Estados Unidos e Irã. Houve fechamento do Estreito de Ormuz, uma das principais rotas mundiais para a comercialização de petróleo, que, aliás, chegou a ter barril negociado na casa dos US$ 105.
