Cinco meses após ser preso acusado de assassinar a professora Lucidalva Prates dos Santos, 39 anos, o baiano Orlando Pereira Prates foi encontrado morto, neste sábado, 21, dentro de uma cela do Conjunto Penal de Frutal, em Minas Gerais.

Natural de Guanambi, no sudoeste da Bahia, ele estava custodiado na unidade desde outubro de 2025, após ser localizado e preso depois de passar cerca de 11 anos foragido da Justiça.

O crime ocorreu em 2014, no distrito de Mutãs, na zona rural do município baiano.

À época do crime, as investigações apontaram que o homem agiu após não aceitar o fim do relacionamento com a vítima.
