O almoço de lideranças do MDB gaúcho, nesta segunda-feira (13), teve uma pauta central: a presença do prefeito de Porto Alegre, Sebastião Melo, no ato de lançamento da pré-candidatura de Luciano Zucco (PL) ao governo do Estado. Ele argumenta que seu papel enquanto prefeito é – e continuará sendo – dialogar com todos os presidenciáveis, assim como ele aproveitou para ver os outros três que passaram pela Capital na última semana: Aldo Rebelo (DC), Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) e Romeu Zema (Novo).

Mas o desconforto no MDB não é resultado só da presença de Melo junto de Flávio. Mas, também, de uma foto em que ele aparece abraçado, sorridente, a Zucco. "Se eu saio na rua agora e eu encontro o (Marcelo) Maranata (PSDB, pré-candidato ao Palácio Piratini), e ele me dá um abraço, eu devo abraçá-lo ou não? Eu encontro Zucco na rua, ele me abraça, eu devo abraçá-lo ou não?", questionou, sugerindo que a situação poderá acontecer, principalmente em período de campanha, mas não passa de educação e cordialidade. Ele reafirmou, porém, que seu apoio será para Gabriel.

Apesar disso, ao ser questionado se o fato do MDB comandar a Capital deverá ajudar o vice-governador a conquistar os votos dos porto-alegrenses, Melo foi categórico: o eleitor não vota mais em partidos, mas em pessoas. "O que vai atrair eleitores para uma candidatura, seja ela para o governo ou prefeito, é o posicionamento político."
