Um engenheiro francês de 59 anos entrou para um grupo extremamente seleto de colecionadores de arte ao arrematar, por apenas 100 euros, uma obra avaliada em cerca de 1 milhão de euros (R$ 5,9 milhões). O feito inusitado aconteceu na última terça-feira (14), quando Ari Hodara foi sorteado em uma rifa beneficente realizada na casa de leilões Christie's, em Paris.
Selecionado entre 120 mil participantes, Hodara comprou apenas um bilhete — o suficiente para mudar completamente sua relação com o mundo da arte. "Fiquei surpreso, só isso", disse ele, em ligação com os organizadores logo após o sorteio. "Quando você aposta nisso, não espera ganhar." Hodara nem lembrava mais que havia adquirido a rifa, até receber o telefonema.
A rifa faz parte da iniciativa "1 Picasso por 100 euros", criada em 2013 com o objetivo de financiar pesquisas científicas e projetos sociais por meio da democratização simbólica do acesso à arte. Esta foi a terceira edição do projeto, que desta vez bateu recorde ao vender todos os 120 mil bilhetes disponíveis — algo inédito até então.
O prêmio sorteado foi "Tête de Femme" (Cabeça de Mulher), uma pintura em guache sobre papel produzida por Pablo Picasso em 1941. A obra traz traços característicos do artista espanhol e combina tons de cinza, branco e creme, refletindo o contexto sombrio da Segunda Guerra Mundial, mas também sugerindo uma dimensão de esperança. Segundo Olivier Widmaier Picasso, neto do pintor, o trabalho sintetiza um momento de tensão histórica sem perder a expressividade que marcou a carreira do avô.
Do total arrecadado, cerca de 1 milhão de euros será destinado à Opera Gallery, atual proprietária da obra.
