247 - Brasil e Espanha firmaram uma parceria estratégica em minerais críticos com foco em investimentos, inovação tecnológica e sustentabilidade, reforçando a cooperação bilateral em setores essenciais para a transição energética e o desenvolvimento econômico.
A iniciativa foi oficializada nesta sexta-feira (17), com a assinatura de um Memorando de Entendimento (MdE) pelo ministro de Minas e Energia, Alexandre Silveira, ao lado do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. As informações foram divulgadas pelo Ministério de Minas e Energia.
O acordo foi estabelecido após a participação brasileira na I Cúpula Brasil-Espanha e Mobilização Progressista Global e contou com a presença de autoridades espanholas, incluindo o primeiro-ministro Pedro Sánchez, além de ministros da área econômica e ambiental do país europeu.
Segundo Alexandre Silveira, a medida representa um avanço relevante para o setor. "A assinatura deste memorando representa um passo estratégico para o fortalecimento do nosso setor de minerais críticos, um tema central para a transição energética e o desenvolvimento sustentável. Estamos unindo esforços para ampliar investimentos, fomentar a inovação tecnológica e agregar valor à cadeia produtiva, sempre com responsabilidade socioambiental e respeito à soberania de cada país", afirmou.
O memorando estabelece cooperação em diversas etapas da cadeia produtiva, como exploração, pesquisa, mineração, refino, reciclagem e transformação de minerais considerados estratégicos. Também estão previstas ações voltadas à gestão ambiental responsável, capacitação técnica, monitoramento e atração de investimentos.
Outro ponto relevante do acordo é o incentivo ao uso de tecnologias inovadoras, incluindo soluções digitais e inteligência artificial aplicadas à análise geológica e à gestão de cadeias de suprimentos.
Durante o anúncio, Silveira destacou que o acesso a minerais críticos é fundamental para a segurança energética e o desenvolvimento industrial. "Essa parceria abre novas oportunidades para o Brasil avançar na industrialização e no uso sustentável de seus recursos minerais, ao mesmo tempo em que fortalece nossas relações internacionais com base em benefícios concretos e mútuos", disse.
