A Polícia Civil voltou a atuar disfarçada nos blocos de rua do Carnaval de São Paulo e, neste domingo, 15, agentes fantasiados de Turma do Chaves prenderam cinco pessoas na região da República, no centro da capital.

Três homens foram presos por tráfico de drogas e duas mulheres detidas por receptação de celular furtado. Com os suspeitos, os policiais apreenderam maconha, pinos de cocaína, ampolas de lança-perfume e dinheiro.

Dois homens e as duas mulheres foram levados ao 2º Distrito Policial, no Bom Retiro. O terceiro homem foi encaminhado ao 78º DP, nos Jardins. Todos ficaram à disposição da Justiça. O material foi enviado para perícia.

Além da República, equipes à paisana atuam em áreas como Ibirapuera, Consolação e Paraíso. Segundo o governo estadual, a estratégia busca identificar o modus operandi de grupos criminosos.

De acordo com o governo, as ações integradas já permitiram a recuperação de mais de 60 celulares roubados ou furtados nos dois primeiros fins de semana de Carnaval. A Polícia Civil iniciou a triagem dos aparelhos por meio do programa SP Mobile, que cruza dados de operadoras com boletins de ocorrência para identificar os proprietários.

A Operação Carnaval 2026 já resultou em 33 prisões em São Paulo desde 31 de janeiro. A ofensiva é coordenada pela Secretaria da Segurança Pública e conta com 13 mil policiais por dia entre as polícias Civil e Militar — o maior efetivo já empregado no período, segundo o governo estadual.
