Conhecida pelos arranha-céus e forte apelo turístico, a cidade de Balneário Camboriú (SC) passou a contar com o primeiro píer alfandegado da América do Sul. O Terminal Portuário Atracadouro Barra Sul permite um formato inédito de embarque e desembarque de passageiros e passa a ser uma referência na rota de transatlânticos que percorrem a costa sul-americana.
A operação inaugural ocorreu no último dia 26 de janeiro, quando cerca de 300 passageiros embarcaram no MSC Preziosa, um gigante com capacidade para 4 mil pessoas. O navio teve como destino a Argentina, com parada no Uruguai e retorno à Balneário Camboriú na segunda-feira passada (2).
Naquele dia, o terminal teve seu primeiro grande teste de logística, com atracação simultânea do MSC Preziosa e do Costa Favolosa, movimentando quase 8 mil pessoas na cidade.
Logística de aeroporto no mar
Diferente dos portos tradicionais, onde o passageiro embarca diretamente do cais para o navio, o Terminal Portuário Atracadouro Barra Sul utiliza um sistema de tenders. São lanchas menores que realizam o trajeto entre o píer e o transatlântico, ancorado na costa, em cerca de 15 minutos.
A novidade, no entanto, é o status de "alfandegado". Com o reconhecimento oficial como Instalação Portuária de Turismo (IPTUR) pelo governo federal, o local passou a contar com fiscalização permanente da Receita Federal e da Polícia Federal.
O processo é semelhante ao de um aeroporto internacional: o terminal foi equipado com scanners de bagagem, esteiras e áreas de check-in e migração para fazer a segurança e o controle aduaneiro.

Investimento privado e burocracia
A estrutura do píer alfandegado em Balneário Camboriú exigiu um investimento de R$ 6 milhões, integralmente custeados pela iniciativa privada, por meio do Grupo Tedesco, proprietário da estrutura. Os trâmites começaram ainda em 2017 e o processo específico para o alfandegamento do píer levou cerca de três anos para ser concluído.
"Fizemos uma ampliação na nossa estrutura, com um espaço totalmente novo para check-in e para o processo de migração, inclusive com o escaneamento de bagagens, já que os passageiros agora partem para países como Argentina e Uruguai", explicou Gustavo Bauer, gerente da Marina Tedesco e responsável pelo Atracadouro.
A temporada de cruzeiros 2025/2026, que começou em novembro e se estende até 2 de abril, tem previsões otimistas. Estão previstas 47 escalas de navios, com a expectativa de movimentar cerca de 160 mil passageiros ao longo de todo o período.
