O condutor foi atendido pela EPR Vias do Café, concessionária responsável pelo trecho. A criança chegou a ser resgatada com vida em estado grave e encaminhada à Santa Casa de Guaxupé, mas não resistiu aos ferimentos e teve o óbito confirmado na unidade de saúde. Os pais morreram no local.
