An accident between a Band Minas news car and a truck killed cameraman Rodrigo Lapa, 49, and left reporter Alice Ribeiro, 35, seriously injured. The accident occurred on BR-381, in Santa Luzia, in Greater Belo Horizonte, on Wednesday (15th).

The BR-381 is known as the 'Highway of Death' and recorded the most fatalities in Minas Gerais in 2025, with 158 occurrences. The stretch where the accident occurred is among the most dangerous sections of the highway, recording 10 deaths in 58 accidents throughout 2025.
