Ecopetrol buys 26% of Brava for R$2.77 billion and will make offer for control

2 sources · 24 Apr 2026

Colombian state-owned Ecopetrol closed an agreement to buy 26% of Brava Energia for R$23 per share, paying R$2.77 billion. The company will launch a public offer to reach 51% control of the Brazilian oil company.

Brava Energia emerged from the merger between Enauta and 3R Petroleum in August 2024, creating an oil company with a shareholder base dominated by financial asset managers and banks rather than typical oil sector investors. The company has a diversified portfolio with onshore and offshore operations, producing around 81 thousand barrels equivalent per day.
