"We will sit down to try to create a convergence text," Motta declared after participating in an event for the Chamber's 200th anniversary. "This matter doesn't belong to the opposition or the government, it belongs to the country. If we can demonstrate unity around this theme, it's another demonstration that the Chamber will give of being connected to what the Brazilian population expects from us."

According to reports, Motta indicated the proposal could advance still in May, depending on political coordination. The rapporteur of the special committee debating the issue, deputy Léo Prates (Republicans-BA), is expected to present his opinion on the work reduction next Wednesday (20).
