Petrobras approves resumption of fertilizer plant construction in MS

2 sources · 14 Apr 2026

Petrobras' Board of Directors approved on Monday the resumption of construction of UFN-III, a fertilizer plant in Três Lagoas (MS). Construction has been halted since 2015 and is expected to restart this semester.

The UFN-III has been halted since 2015, and its resumption came onto Petrobras' radar in 2023, when the company decided to return to the fertilizer segment. Urea is the most demanded nitrogen fertilizer in Brazil, with national consumption of around 8 million tons per year.
