Ratinho Jr. chooses Sandro Alex as PSD candidate for Paraná governorship

2 sources · 14 Apr 2026

Paraná Governor Ratinho Junior (PSD) announced on Monday (13) that federal deputy Sandro Alex will be the party's candidate for state government in the October elections. The decision came after two pre-candidates - Rafael Greca and Alexandre Curi - migrated to other parties due to delays in the definition.

The delay in choosing a candidate cost the PSD two relevant names who migrated to other parties due to the governor's delay in defining the nominee. Cities Secretary Guto Silva was considered the most likely choice, but polling showed him as uncompetitive against Senator Sergio Moro (PL), who leads the surveys.
